Bill Compton is the Senior Pastor of Belmont Baptist Church, located at 3635 Belmont Hwy, Gainesville, Georgia. He has served in this role since May 1994, marking over 30 years of leadership at the church. A native of Hall County, Pastor Bill graduated from South Hall High School in 1972 and initially pursued a career in education and then worked at Atlanta Gas & Light before transitioning into ministry. He is recognized for his commitment to the community and has been involved in various capacities within the Georgia Baptist Convention. Under Pastor Bill’s guidance, Belmont Baptist Church has been active in community outreach, foreign missions, evangelism, and spiritual development, fostering a welcoming environment for congregants and visitors alike. He is currently overseeing the construction of a new church building on Hwy 60 in Gainesville.
Bill is married to his childhood sweetheart, Beth, who have two adult children and several grandchildren.
